Safer From Wildfires

Are you an essential worker who is concerned about wildfire safety yet hasn't had the bandwidth to learn about home and community hardening?

If you live or work in a high fire severity area or a wilderness urban interface (WUI) zone, reducing risk is likely on your mind. For some, where and how to start can be overwhelming or out of reach. As a Community Partner of the California Department of Insurance, Manzanita Works is honored to be hosting a webinar on the State's "Safer from Wildfires" initiative to learn more from the Department of Insurance and the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection on how to begin.

Reducing wildfire risk has clear benefits to working families. It can help with insurance availability and affordability, state emergency management, and community resiliency. Still, it is challenging to incentivize broad-scale wildfire prevention measures without consistent and achievable guidance to homeowners and communities, and that's where this webinar comes in.

Join us as we listen to State recommendations including what it means to become part of a Fire Risk Reduction Community (FRRC) and a FireWise USA® community followed by a panel discussion on local wildfire prevention efforts that may provide you with practical resources you need.
